LSA Corporate Car has taken unprecedented preemptive actions to reduce its impact on the environment by launching a comprehensive program to address climate change issues.
The LSA Corporate Car plan is based on the belief that the uncertainty and risks presented by global warming are so great that it is better to take action immediately rather than wait for scientific research and technological improvements to “fix” climate change.
What We Are Doing
We have introduced comprehensive and customized strategies to our operation that will, over the next five years result in a significant reduction of the company’s energy consumption. Today, LSA Corporate Car is actively involved in:
- A Carbon Emissions Inventory Assessment
- Emissions Goal Setting (in conjunction with the EPA)
- Integration of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reduction Strategies
- Voluntary Reporting to the EPA
- Using FlexFuel vehicles that run on gasoline, E85 (a blend of 85% ethanol and 15% gasoline), or a combination of both.
- Utilizing Active Fuel Management™ technology that allows our SUVs to use all cylinders when power is needed and fewer cylinders when practical for better mileage.
We have initiated energy reduction strategies throughout every aspect of our business. By converting all of our paper documents, including confirmations, receipts, and invoices to digital formats, we have reduced our use of paper by more than 50 percent. All light fixtures have been equipped with Energy Star™ certified compact fluorescent light bulbs that are 75 percent more energy efficient than standard bulbs.
Even LSA Corporate Car’s promotional materials have been made more sustainable and are now printed exclusively on recycled paper or are available in digital formats. We have also instituted a buy “green” preferred supplier partnership and make every effort to develop relationships with suppliers that have established sustainability programs.
